Kenny Waters to take K&Q helm (former Essex & W&L assistant)

Congrats to Coach Kenny Waters who was recently named the Head Football Coach at King and Queen Central High School (Rappahannock Times Sports).

Good luck to Waters as he has a daunting task to rebuild K&Q. Best wishes on the task at hand.

Waters was an assistant at Essex for 5 years under Coach Fulks. He spent last season at W&L with Coach Taylor.

Waters was a star athlete for King William High School. Good article about his hiring at K&Q.

Which kids are you talking about? I know its not the politically correct thing to say. Sorry but the problem hasn't been the coaching it's the culture and it's not just at king and queen and it's not just kids. Kids don't committ, they skip practice, they aren't held accountable and when they are someone, normally a parent , complains to try and get their way. I'm tired of hearing, "They work hard or my kid works hard", do they? The majority of times they don't and aren't. Sometimes it is adult related. Heck, sometimes coaches skip practice nowadays and they aren't held accountable. There is a team in the area, according to rumor (that's why I won't post the team) that didn't have a single varsity coach at a practice the week of a playoff game. If that's true, what does that say?
I truly hope for a resurgence in King and Queen athletics because it helps everyone but one coach isn't going to be able to do it by his lonesome. I hope he gets the help he deserves.

Sorry for the rant. I'm getting old and crotchety I guess/turning into one of those get off my lawn types that I thought would never happen.

You are exactly right. It's not just a King and Queen problem. Lack of commitment, accountability, and parents/administration support of coaches is the root of MANY teams success in the area.
