Sheriff was notified by a parent that Assistant Coach has been sending “inappropriate messages, videos, and pictures” to players and students. I have not heard that there was physical relationships with any players or students as of today. I think that is where the investigation continues today. The assistant coach is the main problem from the start of this whole mess and should be punished accordingly by the law.
Now the Rumor mill is that HC and Assistant were close friends. The Head coach apparently did find out and knew what was happening around the team and school. He reported it to the AD. That’s where it gets political and messy.
The AD and HC may have not done anything to really stop the issues. Once the law was involved, the coaching staff was put on Leave. Somehow the AD got out of that situation. So Now the HC is getting blamed by everyone including the AD who also should have also done something.
The Head coach who has been amazing for the entire community and the school since he arrived, May felt like he has lost everything in his professional life and community when this came crashing down on him. One night at home, he makes a really bad decision to harm himself. It’s been reported that he is in stable health condition.
The KRHS football team with Coach Porterfield was a major highlight to the county over the past 7-8 years.
We wait and see what happens next.
