What a great game. KG's play calling is so, so good.
@FoxesPride I was there tonight. Not a lot seperating those two teams. I think KG is the crispier team with execution etc and that was the difference. I hope you go all the way and win it for region B. Good luck and well done.

I think it's time to say, "the Battlefield is officially back", and it's long past due for Louisa to come back. Heck, Massaponax can join as well!

Easy now, Massaponax can stay right where they are! Thanks for the congrats, next week will certainly be a tough game to win, but if we do, state championship game in the fox den! 🦊

LT vs KG will be about who can get stops. Shot out to Churchland for giving LT a good game. I was worried they would be overwhelmed. KG has got to sure up that run D. I believe KG QB is good enough to have success against ANY opponent. I thought number 10 for king George was very good also. LT’s QB foster has been doing this for a long time so he is seasoned. Going to be a great game!
We certainly struggled when they ran the wildcat with 8. KG made adjustments at the half and slowed it down in the second half. #8 for Monacan is a dude... and only a junior!
Monacan rushing stats: 34/98, but it certainly seemed much worse than that...avoided the big run though.

KG has faced mostly run teams all year. They’re used to it. Once they made a halftime adjustment it stopped. I’d love to know the first half stats compared to the 2nd half.
Would be nice to add Louisa and Orange back to the Battlefield. Imagine the looks of this:

Yeah the ground game wasn’t great for either squad. Most of Monacan’s rushing yards were just great effort runs from our TB. We don’t really have a great rushing game Bc our QB is not a rushing threat so when we go wildcat it is pretty easy to figure out where the ball is going.
Another big turning point is Monacan decided to use a little clock and score up 21-14 with very little time to go in the half. Then KG runs the ensuing KO down to our 35 yrd line. Leaving plenty of time of time for KG to run their offense and they capitalize.
KG got the stops when they needed to particularly the goal line stand. If Monacan converted that it would have been interesting. Also, KG converted a couple of big fourth downs. Both offenses were stunted a bit in the second half. After the first quarter I though the score was going to be in the 40’s or 50’s at end of regulation. Both Hensley and Mutter just missed on a few home run balls.
I am proud of our boy’s who I thought played hard. I said it would take a whale of a game to beat KG and it would have. Ultimately, KG is just a cleaner football team. Monacan can be a bit sloppy with snaps, special teams, penalties etc. Frankly, this has plagued us for several years now. Luckily our big play capability can usually bail us out.
I was already impressed with KG’s football team and last night added to that. They are a skilled and gritty bunch. They have as good a chance as any to bring home the ring. Well done and good luck to the Foxes 🦊

K G now in the elite bracket. In there with 3 schools with huge football credentials and tradition. Won't have to beat all three but will have to beat 2 of them.
Yeah, that is something to see them in the final four with Tuscarora, Lake Taylor, and Salem! Unreal. Not sure if they will beat two of them, but I'm quite confident they will be able to hang with any of them.
#8 started cramping real bad in the 3rd quarter
We wanted to but we kept getting in long yardage Bc of penalties, bad snaps and getting sacked. Offensively we were a bit out of sorts I thought at the end. Plus, KG got some pretty good hits on our QB that really took their toll on him the last drive or two.
My internet was working last night in the stadium for some reason. I was going to shoot you a note about that what sideline were you on?
I was on the Monacan sideline all night long, blue VirginiaPreps shirt.
Was it the internet? I know Twitter was messed up pretty much all night long. 75% of my tweets never loaded, video was slow to load, it was awful. All of us covering the game were having trouble, Lane Cassadonte, Marc Davis, Byron Jones, Channel 8.
KG is definitely making the 540 area very proud. You don't get these opportunities very often and the community is loving it. On the other side in Class 6 Massaponax moved on to the State Semis as well for the first time since 2009. Glad to see our area representing two different classes and bringing attention to our area's football.
