Team A kicked off to Team B. Ball had not been touched. B tried to kick the ball, maybe out of bounds? But he missed the ball completely and it eventually rolled out of bounds. If he had kicked it out of bounds, is that flagged? If he kicked it and it stayed in bounds could it have been advance by team A?

If he kicked it, theree would have been a flag for illegal kicking. You can only legally kick the ball as a free kick or an obvious (read: controlled) scrimmage kick. When I say 'controlled," I mean that even if it's a scrimmage kick situation, the kick has to be controlled. If the ball is dropped and loose on the ground, the kicker cannot try kick a loose ball off the ground.

Legitimate question here, not trying for a "gotcha" moment. Is a dropkick (where the ball is dropped, hits the ground and is kicked off the bounce) allowed in HS? I believe the last one in the NFL was successfully done by Doug Flutie with the Patriots.
