King William junior, Henry Kite announced tonight that he's committed to Division 1, William and Mary. Kite has really come into his own in the last year or so. He's topped out at 91 MPH, and has room to grow. He's the 3rd KW pitchers who will pitch in college. Seniors Daniel Burton and Andrew Lee have signed with Virginia Wesleyan and Eastern Mennonite, respectively

Now that.....is not just a good choice, buts it's the Best choice! I'm biased though, as W&M is my alma mater. Congrats to the young man.

A battle between him and the Battle boys would be a delight to watch.
They play at 10 am in the morning. Kite isn't the ace of the KW staff, that's Virginia Wesleyan signee Daniel Burton. But I suspect you'll see both Kite and Eastern Mennonite signee Andrew Lee tomorrow. Battle is gonna be a tough one though. Very well coached team and they have some big bats and really good pitching of their own. Then again, at this stage, all 4 teams left are good.

The kid going to D-1 W&M isn’t the staff ace but the kid going to VA WES is? VW is in the bottom third of the D3 ODAC in baseball.

Maybe the W&M kid has a higher upside? Just curious about that.

Yes, the kid going to W&M has higher upside, as he's a junior and is throwing low 90s. He does have some control issues at times. Daniel Burton, the one going to Virginia Wesleyan has been the ace for KW for 3 years. He's a big boy, but won't really overpower you. He probably throws around 83 or 84. But he has great movement on his pitches, only has issued like 5 walks all year, and has an ERA of 0.66. Kite has an ERA of around 1.30, and Andrew Lee, the one who started today and that is going to Eastern Mennonite, has around a 1.40 ERA. Hope that helps answer your question, as I can definitely see why some may be confused by that
