Kellam senior Turner Bishop was the star of the game helping the Knights to a 7-2 win over the Cox Falcons. Bishop, who is headed to Old Dominion, made plays from the mound, at the plate and in the field. He pitched six innings allowing three hits and no earned runs to get the win. He also got out of a bases loaded jam by snagging a line shot back to the mound and throwing to first for a double play. Bishop went 3 for 4 from the plate including a 1st inning homerun.

The Knights led 5-0 thanks to two passed balls and an RBI double by David Mulac. Bishop followed with a homerun over the centerfield fence that cleared the wall by several feet.

Shortstop Nick Walker added a run scoring single in the second inning and VMI recruit Josh Worthley added a sacrifice fly that scored Kyle Morrison in the 4th inning for a 7-0 lead.

Cox avoided the shutout in the sixth after a singe by Tucker Curren and a double by Cuyler Matteson put runners at second and third. Cole Jarvis grounded to second but an error allowed both baserunners to score making the score 7-2. Bishop struckout Brad Dean to end the threat.
