Lake Taylor High School need a game

This is what the VHSL needs to do so teams don't have this issue. I, again, point to how the UIL does things in Texas to help mitigate scheduling issues.

Every two years, all head coaches and/or ADs should come to Charlottesville during the time the numbers are released. They could combine this with a rules clinic to provide added value to the weekend.

Then, there should be breakout rooms. The districts should get together to finalize district schedules for two years. After the districts finalize their schedules, there should be rooms assigned by classifications to where they can finalize their non-district schedules.

That way, things are done and you know who you are playing and you can help eliminate unnecessary out-of-state games.

If a team like Grundy can't find a game, but they know a school like Northumberland needs a game, they could work out a deal to where the "home team" in the series travels a few hours to help cut down on the travel of the "visiting team". A couple of schools in Texas had to do that with a team from the El Paso area having to play a team from South Texas. The "home team" in this two-game series will travel four hours and it works out well. Of course this is hypothetical as Grundy could easily go across the border to find a game while Northumberland...well maybe they would have to be creative.

Preferably, I would love for the VHSL to redraw districts every two years to shake things up. Have a true round robin district schedule to make district titles mean something. And then you wouldn't have to hear this recent nouveau argument of school sizes when it comes to people trying to come up with excuses for not playing everyone during the current district setup.
