Northumberland scores on the 1st drive. The extra point was blocked (for like the 15th time this season). Then Luray scored making it 7-6.
It was Luray up 13-12 at the half. Later it was 20-18 Luray up in the 4th quarter.
Final was Luray 27-18. Game went basically as was discussed on here. Luray is a well coached, disciplined team with two really good running backs that ran it down the middle almost all game. Luray hit really hard and played some smart ball. You could tell they studied some film. I thought they were a classy team.
The same problems that plagued the Indians all season were evident again as usual.
Northumberland had 5 turnovers and about 125 yards in penalties tonight. Northumberland fumbled inside the 5 twice - on the 3 and the freaking one yard line (after having a 1st down and goal on the 1...).
Great job to Luray. Good luck next week.
Northumberland won 7 games this season, which is their 2nd best season in like two decades.
