Martinsville wins opener

New coach Louis Campbell opened his Mavahi career with a 65-63 win over 4A Rocky River HS from just outside Charlotte, NC. A Brian Mitchell tip-in with 2 seconds to go proved to be the game winner. The Dogs were down 27-20 at the half and were down 7 in the 4th period before they came back for the win. Mitchell scored 27 of his game high 31 points in the 2nd half. The Dogs have a quick turnaround as they play Dan River at the Doghouse Monday night. This was a very entertaining opener, hopefully we can keep it going.

Martinsville travels to Dan River for 2nd game with the Wildcats this week. The Dogs won 60-36 on Monday at the Doghouse, so the Wildcats will be looking for payback tonite. Brian Mitchell led Mavahi with 24 on Monday and Ray Preston had 14.
