They tried to give this game away the entire first half. It’s like they wanted Matoca to score as much as they could.

Defensive battle with 905 yards of combined offense. Almost as many penalty yards. Dinwiddie gave up way too many big plays and killed drives with holding penalties. Proud of our boys for not caving in. Huge size difference in the trenches. Let's get ready for Powhatan.

A hell of a game. The pass drops, poorly throw passes, and penalties took away from the excitement of the contest, butitwas still a very exciting game with all of the offensive firepower on both team.

I think Bleeding Navy told me he issued 17 different media credentials for tonight’s game. Obviously, a lot of folks expected it to be the game it turned out to be.

I guess Bleeding Navy will post the 4B ratings shortly. I know is currently working on them. But with nearly 100% certainty, Dinwiddie is the #1 seed and will host Powhatan, the #8 seed.

I will probably come down in two weekends to watch you guys play King George (if the Foxes are a 4 Seed). I always enjoy coming down there even though it comes with seeing one of my Battlefield teams get beaten.

Given that Matoaca is likely one of the top 2 seeds in 5C is that really an unreasonable statement?
According to thread Matoaca wasn’t supposed to be in that game and dinwiddie escaped with a win. The top three lost when they weren’t supposed to. So seeds you can have them. I’m biased so me saying I think Louisa could play with dinwiddie is my opinion but the fact is dinwiddie is beatable and don’t get ahead of yourself.

I'll take it a step farther and say that I think Dinwiddie, Huguenot, And Varina would all go 8-0 against the 5C playoff teams.
And I know you would say that even though they did everything they could to screw that game up. You been around so long you think you can’t be wrong. They said the same when Louisa beat the almighty generals. YOU CAN ALWAYS BE BEAT

Of course anyone can be beat. And everyone respects Louisa. But Louisa also plays a weak schedule and if you look at the results of their season it doesn't seem they have much outside of their 2 studs. I got Matoaca as the favorite and Louisa 2nd in that region but they ain't beating the top of 4B.

I'm not getting ahead of anything. Just answered the question you posed. You should probably take your own advice given the history of your Lions.

I’ve always been realistic about my lions when other ppl were getting ahead of themselves. I’m not talking Louisa up I’m saying your unrealistic and just because I put a ? Behind really doesn’t mean I was posing a question. I already knew the answer I just wanted to spin up the old hens.

Every team in the state of Virginia is beatable, except Maury.

Did you really spin anything up or make a valid argument that it was unrealistic?

Louisa not beating the Top 4 of 4B this year or next year
@General172011, I think Louisa has the weapons to be in the top 4 in B next year. In fact, if the Lions line play has improved they can beat Matoaca this year. @racindan4u, I don't know what you beef is with Dinwiddie, but only one poster (@General172011) debating with you is a Dinwiddie poster and I can tell you he knows football very well. The other two are knowledgeable and respectful football guys. No one is disrespecting Louisa. One other note. Matoaca has been the #1 ranked team in RVA. Dinwiddie is #5. How were the Generals the favorite? Go look at the 5c region seeds thread. Picked Louisa to win big. Guess you overlooked that.

Hey boss I don’t like the word respect it’s tossed around these days like a verb nobody knows what it really means in this day and age. Our kids prove that by the way they act. I wasn’t saying anybody disrespected Louisa I said they aren’t realistic in their remarks in their thread. Matoaca could just as easily have won that game and they weren’t given a chance in the thread and I thought it was wrong. Now I’ve met you and I know you’re a person that should be respected and I do so I’m not going to go there with you. The others get butt hurt over my opinion that’s to bad but I’m speaking my truth. I don’t mean I’ll will to dinwiddie at all their record speaks for itself and good luck the rest of the way. Next year though I hope we get to play in the playoffs.

I kind of want to get this thread back on track. Most people observed the trash talk before/during the game, the extreme punishment they put on each other and plethora of errors made by these teams. What most did not observe was the bond shared and the pure emotions that occurred after the game.

I have been watching/involved in high school football for over 50 years and I have never witnessed the pure respect the kids/coaches showed one another at the end. To see Caleb Williams (South Carolina commit) lift Harry Dalton (USC commit) over his head and hug one another for a minute was refreshing. This incident repeated itself between different players/coaches throughout the handshake line/prayers huddle.

I spoke with one of Dinwiddie's players after the game and pointedly asked him why. This was his reply. "Man, we have been knocking heads with these guys since flag football (age 6). My brothers (Dinwiddie) work so hard to stay on top and keep our winning streak over them going. Matoaca, the same way trying to finally beat us. Man, I am hurting physically like they are emotionally. We took it to each other one more time and left it right here. It just all came out!"

As fans we may get emotional and type stupid words that mean zilch. To these kids and coaches it's real. So very proud of both teams and especially our seniors. They gave us and themselves a game to remember.

One last note. Super proud of our 5'11" 225 lb freshman offensive tackle Austin Wells. He matched up most of the night with All State defensive end Caleb Williams (6'6" 260 lbs) and performed well. Although Williams had 6 tackles he was held without a sack for the first time all year. Our smallish but sound technique o line just keeps getting better every week.

Well said BN. There was a little taste of the true feelings early, after the coin toss, and the players were leaving for the sidelines. Harry and Caleb embraced for an extra 10 seconds after the others had left.

Matoaca has 20 seniors who have never beaten Dinwiddie. Had to hurt. The Warriors wanted this game bad and played their tails off. A lot of talking and posturing, but a brutally physical game. The Warriors have nothing to hang their heads over. Dinwiddie took it on the chin early and stayed focussed.
