Congratulations to Matt and the rest of the Raiders! Not to take anything away from Matt because he definitely deserves the honor but, I'm surprised they didn't select Navy Jones as the Offensive player of the year. I say that because it seems everyone around here has been on the Navy Jones and JF bandwagon the last two seasons. Navy is a heck of a player but he and JF hasn't been able to produce in the big games. It's hard to pick against a QB that has good stats AND leads his team to a state championship! Good job to the News & Advance for making the right pick!

I was surprised by that too! I thought they might give it to Tyrell Staten from William Campbell. Its hard for me to go with a single wing/wing T RB cause an average RB will get 1000 yards in that system. Wishbone is similar. Page threw for 1000 yards in playoffs alone (5 games). I think him leading them to a State title cemented decision though.
