Championship game:Grayson County to play Galax this morning at 11.

Graysoin defeated Fort Chiswell by slaughter rule 10-0 in semifinal yesterday and Galax defeated Narrows 11-6 in the other semifinal.
From what I heard, all four teams will be in the Region tourney. Grayson County will host Fort Chiswell again in the first round of the Region (again, another match-up of district teams in the first round which as I mentioned in previous post seems unnecessary).
If Galax can pull a miracle upset of Grayson today, they will be the #2 seed for D1 Region and will receive a bye in the first round. If they lose today, they will be the #3 seed and will host a game against Bland (again, another match-up of district teams in the first round of the Region).
There has got to be a better system than this.

Grayson County 6, Galax 1

Grayson County wins MED Tourney and will host Fort Chiswell on Monday in Region D2 game. I heard alot of Grayson County fans complaining that the tourney was stretched out too long because Galax wanted to play all the tourney games at their park, although the rain made it unplayable for several days. Grayson County volunteered to let Galax use their field so that the games could be played but Galax refused. Now both teams may be limited on their pitching for the Region tourney based on the new pitching rules. Sounds like alot of bad blood between the two schools.

Looks like a upset in the making.Fort has beaten Grayson once in MED.I have Grayson as the favorite in Region C.They have plenty of pitchers which is what you need when playing region format.Fort has been hit and miss this year so they are dangerous when they are on all cylinders.

If you should switch fields for that reason then to be fair Grayson should play Basketball in somebodys gym other than their own. Seats less than 500 per fire code. Just saying.
