Music at games

Do you mean no music. We play music in between innings at Riverheads.

VHSL policy...music before, after and between innings is fine, but absolutely no "walk up" tunes tailored to each batter. That is considered a sportsmanship violation.

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the other year when Page softball played at East Rock it seemed like ER had "walk-up" music for each batter. never really thought of it until now.

It's relatively new. This year if I'm not mistaken. I won't name schools but some are still using walk up music regularly.

Madison Co. plays pre-game music and sometimes between the innings. No walk up songs though.

Walk up music is not allowed. I received an email in the spring from the high school league stating that fact. Irregardless I would not allow it because it detracts from the team aspect of the game. "It is not about you, it is about us."

I'm all behind the VHSL on that one. It's usually just a bunch of noise, not "music."

Let the paid ballplayers have their "inspiration" from "walk-up music." Don't let it filter below there.
