From Notre Dame! He hasn’t taken long,to get them ready for another run. I’m guessing there won’t be much of a letdown at QB.

No, there won't be a let down!!! In fact, this kid just might be the best one at HSHS in a long , long time!! He an arm like a rifle and a bruising, physical runner. Speaking of runners.... ya' know HS is losing it's top 3 runners from 2018. The next 3 or 4 stepping into the limelight might have you scratching your head!!!They are tough, fast and physical. Note. Last year's undefeated (10-0 with 9 shutouts)JV team members are filling the holes left because of graduation.... Look out! The 2019 Springers will be as tough or tougher than the past 4!! Is there a 5-Peat in the makings? I don't know, but it's going to take a special team to take it from them!!!

Having scrimmaged them every year since 2010 they are always reloading. That is scary they have a QB with a Notre Dame offer with that type of skill around him. Plus the D will be really good as usual. That program is a machine that is just GAINING STEAM every year.

He’ll have a 6’1-265lb Jr bruising RB in the backfield to help too. He was a freshman,on the varsity,2 yrs ago. He’s back, bigger and faster,to demand attention for the running game.
On the D,another Notre Dame offered kid will lead a VERY experienced, nasty group. An incredible schedule will have them fully battle tested. Opening with Oscar Smith should be full of fireworks!

HS should be fun to watch this year, offensively and defensively... Now about the schedule:
I see on every schedule I have seen they have HS playing Hermitage on Aug. 30th... If that is the case, it could be interesting! Former LC Bird coach David Bedwell now heading the Panthers!! Can Bedwell turn around the Hermitage embarrassing 2018 1-9 season in his first year? Then Oscar Smith the following week!! Meadowbrook and then North Stafford comes to Richmond to visit the Springers for the first time in the regular season ( how are they going to be this year Coach Joe?)…. Then, we go to Page HS in Greensboro, NC.... there is a date set for HS to play defending Class 6 Champion Manchester at Manchester... Then later a date at Colonial Forge.... Sprinkle in usually tough Henrico and to cap the season off with always tough Varina.... This should be a very interesting year.... Should HS roll through this season, they'd most likely be pretty high in the National rankings.... Battle tested for the playoffs? Indeed they will be tested like no other team they'll meet!!!

Smith hired the controversial, Chris Scott (Bishop Sullivan & Ocean Lakes). I can't say I was happy about it given the Rivalry AND controvery which surrounded him. Not that Rich Morgan didn't create his own controversy but that's another debate.

However, I am excited that the school hired a high energy, passionate Coach. The goals are the same as before and Highland Springs HAS set the bar in VA recently. I hope the two teams keep playing each other for the long term!

SPRINGER 76,
I Expect North Stafford to be very good next year. QB threw for over 2500 yards almost 40 tds and only 8 ints with 73 % passing rate. Smart kid, very accurate and can run and extend plays. D1 WR Javon Swinton 10 offers with syracuse, south carolina, wake.. Another all state wr Tall - 6 3. 190 lbs. RB last year who was a freshmen getting recruited by FBS schools last fall. They return a lot and are very talented. I EXPECT them to win the region next year and play Stonebridge in State Semi-Finals again. That being said Highland Springs is a different beast. They are on another level IMO. No disrespect to the rest but I have coached with Coach Johnson and know his program. They are running at an all time level. Remember I coached against the Phoebus Dynasty in 2011 during their 4 peat, Coached against Lake Taylor 2012 in state semifinals. They beat us on last second field goal. They were 15-0. We beat the Briar Woods Trace McSorley dynasty.. We scrimmage Highland Springs first every since 2010. They are on a totally different level then anyone I have played against. They are very, very physical. Obviously very athletic at skill positions but more importantly they are VERY DISCIPLINED, play VERY HARD and are VERY WELL COACHED!! That type of talent with that coaching is very hard to beat. So yes North Stafford I believe should be very good next year. That said Highland Springs is probably on a different level and North would probably have to play an almost perfect game to beat them.

NICE!!! That's what I want to hear!! I want all of these teams we've scheduled to challenge us! Of course I want to see HS run the gamut and go 15-0 with the 5peat! That is going to be a VERY difficult task this year!!!
Smith will be tough! Colonial Forge will be tough!!! N. Stafford will be tough! Manchester (lost a ton to graduation) cannot be counted out! Ever!! Page will be tough!! Varina was tough last year and they return a good core! Henrico always plays us tough!!!
I know you that you have left NS as head coach and I want to wish you the very best in whatever you do from this point forward!! I'm pretty sure you will have your fingerprints on the Wolverines success!!!
PS, I am not a coach at HSHS, not even a parent... I am very deep rooted in the Highland Springs Community and HSHS Class of '76 graduate. I have been going to nearly all HSHS football games since 1972 and have seen a lot of very good teams made there.... Loren Johnson has created a Springer legacy for himself, the school and the community! I am so proud to be connected as an alumni, community member, fan and supporter....So, all of you that read my posts, thanks!...and understand that it's my pride and love for this program that has made a huge impact on this small community called Highland Springs, VA... Home of The Springers!!!

Is ND recruiting him as a QB? Pretty wild that he hasn’t even taken a varsity snap yet.

As an athlete! He was the lead QB on the JV that has gone 20-0 the last 2 years, including last year’s record breaking scoring season(one score from 100 on one team last year). He actually plays WR and RB too,but he’ll be playing QB the next 2 years predominantly. He’s 6’185,as a dual threat QB,but no mention of the position that ND is ESPECIALLY interested in him playing.

Got it. Makes more sense to me that they like the athleticism without the QB film yet. Good for him!!

I'd vote this as the most ambitious schedule played by a Virginia public in recent memory. With the way they've been playing, I think they are probably favored in each game too. That's crazy! If they win every game, I don't know if they'd crack the top 25 without a national power or highly ranked school on their schedule and with Virginia not typically viewed as a power state. But that should raise some eyebrows.
