Northern Neck baseball continues to roll. Last night 9 seed Essex upset the 1 seed Chincoteague. 10 seed Rappahannock slaughtered the 2 seed Windsor. 4 seed Northumberland beat the 5 seed colonial beach. Northumberland will play Essex Tuesday night, Essex will be gunning for revenge as Northumberland beat Essex twice in district play. Also 11 seed west point upset the 3 seed Mathews, meaning west point will play at Rappahannock Tuesday. If all plays out the nnd could have two teams playing in the state tourney. In softball 3 seed northumberland bet 11 seed Lancaster to advance to the semi finals. 2 seed Rappahannock edged out 10 seed Mathews in 8 innings. Setting up a great nnd battle between Northumberland and Rappahannock Tuesday at Rappahannock. Home field could be the deciding factor as the two split at their respective fields. 5 seed W&l slaughtered 4 seed Chincoteague. They will play at Windsor tuesday. Like baseball possibly two , at least one team will represent the nnd at states. Good luck ladies and go nnk

Great season (and year) for Northumberland sports!

For probably the 1st time ever all 4 NHS spring teams advanced to the Region Quarterfinals (Softball, Baseball, Boys and Girls Soccer) and three have advanced to the semis (Boys Soccer lost in OT).

All were high seeds.

Track also had many champions or top 3 placers in the Regions. NHS should have some state success.

Football and Boys Basketball had some of their best success in decades and some other sports did well.
