As of right now, these are the records I have. If missing some games, please add. Plus, add other teams as well.

NND Boys Soccer Standings (overall record)

#1 Rappahannock 2-0-1 (tied Northampton)
#2 Lancaster 1-0-1
#3 Northumberland 2-1 (lost to a good 2A)
#4 Washington and Lee 0-1 (lost to 4A Caroline, any other games?)
#5 Essex 0-3

Tonight Rapp plays at Middlesex, Lancaster is home v Chincoteague, Northumberland JV plays K&Q JV (K&Q is a new 2nd year program) others?

Next Tuesday Northumberland plays Lancaster in an early NND rival clash, Thursday NHS v 2A KW

Looks like WP 1-0-1 (tied Northampton, any more games?) is top dog in Tidewater with Mathews and Middlesex to fight it out for 2nd (KW is in 2A playoffs).

Friday - Rapp over Middlesex, Lancaster over Chincoteague, 3A JM over W&L.

Northumberland JV over K&Q JV (K&Q does not have a Varsity team yet).

Tomorrow at NHS - Double Header Varsity Header - 1st Girls Varsity NHS (4-0-1) v LHS...

Boys Soccer next - Lancaster (2-0-1) v Northumberland (2-1) in early 2nd place NND battle

Some scores from this week -

Monday-

Middlesex 2 KW 1
Mathews 10 Charles City 0

Tuesday

Lancaster 3 Northumberland 2 (Lancaster given 3 PKs to 0.....including game winner in OT.)

NHS keeper - Joe Schindler, a rare Sophomore Captain, had an amazing stuff on 2nd PK. Joe who was 2nd team NND as a Freshman, has two shutouts out of four games and has only allowed one goal in regular play & that was after a missed clear by the D).

Wednesday-

West Point 4 Essex 0
3A New Kent 2 Rapp 1
King William 4 Mathews 2
Middlesex 4 Carver 0

2A King William plays at Northumberland tonight

NHS . Extremely physical playing team that has fouls called as they should have been. Including all 3 fouls in the box . Lancaster wasn't "given" 3 PKs . NHS committed 3 fouls in the box which were correctly called .

Gonna be a war every time these two play .Gotta give NHS props .they play hard and aggressive. Have ALOT of talent

lol. One PK was legit....two man ref crew used...

I appreciate the backhanded compliment for NHS but yes Northumberland out shot Lancaster 31 to 10 (ten including the three PKs).

Maybe the young Indians will finish a tad better next time...

Thanks for the updates! I could not find the middlesex score.

Your welcome!

In a game where the fouls were 6 to 5 for the entire game, shots almost even - King William defeated Northumberland 3-1.

NHS scored 1st with 9 min left in 1st on a 25 yard blast, KW responded with a 27 yard beauty just a few minutes later. 1-1 at the half.

with 25 min left in 2nd, KW scored on a very nice header off a corner kick.

a few minutes later, KW scores off a PK to cause comeback bid by the Indians unlikely (was supposed to be an indirect free kick taken from the point of the "supposed" infraction) -
NFHS Soccer Rule Book - Rule 12 Section 1-1, page 53.

An outstanding clean played game with class by both sides - as KW and Northumberland begin a new series - KW has a classy fun, energetic coach!

Busy week for NND Soccer! It will be interesting to see where everyone stands after this week....

Monday- KW at Essex, W&L at Middlesex

Tuesday- Rapp at 3A New Kent

Wednesday - Northumberland at Essex, Lancaster at Rapp, KW at W&L

Friday- W&L at Rapp, Lancaster at Essex, ARGS at Northumberland

KW over Essex 5-3
Middlesex over W&L 4-2
West Point over Mathews 6-0

I updated the NND rankings above. I will also work sometime on producing an accurate Region A top 12 based on current records and points. 12 teams make the Region playoffs this season.

Also, I see about 5 (maybe 6) Region A teams with a legit shot of making a run at states.

It has been a long time since a Region A team won the State title. In fact, just off the top of my head, I think it was around 2002 with Nandua - who is now 2A (we used to be Group A). I may be forgetting someone but I don't think so.

Radford, George Mason, Galax, Riverheads (one year) have won almost all of them the last 20 years or so. Northampton often made the final four but would lose to one of the above powerhouses.

This should finally be Region A's year to win it all.

Wednesday's Neck games-

Rappahannock wins big over Lancaster 5-1.

2A KW in a close one over W&L 2-1.

Northumberland at Essex, NHS wins 2-0, 4th shutout for Indians.

(1st victory for the Indians over Essex in 7 years, only 2nd since 2007).

In a highly spirited contest, game was clean. Northumberland with only 5 fouls called on them in entire game, just 9 on Essex.

Rapp reestablishes itself as Top Dog.
