Defense needs a lot of improvement if they are to make it very far. They may not have what it takes this year, but this team is very inexperienced with very few returning starters on either side of the ball. Maybe they'll find the right pieces to the puzzle and put them in the right places by the end of the year? Depth has been a major concern for me. I don't ever remember a time when Salem had so few players. A couple of injuries have highlighted this issue.

On the positive side of the ledger, the offense found another couple weapons Fri. #21 Soph Kyshead Arrington is a great RB, to complement Persinger and Soph Jordan McCadden in the back field. #11 Anthony Snead showcased his WR skills and speed Fri as well.

Transitive property of who beat who and by how much be darned, they played a good northside team and won. Saw kids out there getting after it and having fun and correcting mistakes to win a game. Looking forward to a close PH game!
