Sources have confirmed to VirginiaPreps.com that Larry Archie will not be returning as the Head Football Coach of the Norcom Greyhounds in Portsmouth.
In 19 seasons, Archie went 152-63 overall over two separate stints at Norcom. He also served as an assistant coach on the college level for two years at the Norfolk State University from 2003-04, plus previously served on the coaching staff as an assistant at Lake Taylor.
Archie's Greyhounds recovered from an 0-3 start in 2018 by winning six of their final seven regular season contests. That included a win over Lake Taylor. Norcom also avenged its season-opening loss to Hopewell by eliminating the 2017 State Champs at the Class 3 level in the second round. Norcom finished 8-5 overall, falling to Phoebus by a count of 7-6 in triple-overtime in the Region 3A Championship.
