Wasn't able to make the game. Sounds like it was a very lopsided game. Was Northumberland that much overrated? Or has Essex improved that much? Looks like Essex offense is starting to click

Northumberland had no answer for Essex O or D. That week off did Essex some good. They came out looking fresh and full of energy on both sides of the ball. Maybe it was the homecoming atmosphere in front of a packed house. Lol. They looked to have cleaned up some things. I’ll take the win but waiting to see if they can play like that against stronger teams.

Northumberland is Northumberland. I’ll leave it right there.

Northumberland lost plenty from last year's team. I think most of their skill guys are young. But, they were no match for Essex. Sorry UVacavs but you blew that team up to be more than what they actually are.

Congrats to Essex on the lopsided victory over NHS. Essex was way hyped and played very well.

Good luck to the Trojans!

I hope that Essex or whoever makes it from the Neck can keep it close once they get to Riverheads so at least the Red team has to put forth some effort to win the state title.

Little harsh on the criticism of @uvacavs1. He believes in his Indians and supports not only them but the neck in general. Did the weekly update of numbers Mason and company put up really offend anyone? Personally I would much rather see that than someone tearing our youth down by being critical.

The wheat is separating from the chaff but there is no need to be negative. Essex is certainly a contender and Northumberland is middle of the pack right behind the top two. Nothing more, nothing less. Just my .02 that wasn’t asked for.

As for NHS, yes it has been a disappointment the last two weeks in how they have lost.

However, I only said that NHS will be in the top 3 in the NND (and they certainly still could and they might but at the moment it does not look super promising).

I stated stats from the 1st 4 games. All true.

I stated that NHS has probably the best QB and the best Kicker in the NND. Those are all still true statements imo.

I stated that NHS has several really athletic skill players who are really young. This is true.

All season long Indian fans said that the O and D lines are a major concern. The D is very sketchy. The hope was they would be ready. They are not yet.

However, remember the big losses were against two very strong teams.

Last night the score was only 6-0 EHS (I think) at the end of the 1st. Then later in the 2nd it 14-0 and Essex had a 4th and long.

Obviously a pass play coming up. I said if NHS can make a big stop here, the Indians have at least a chance to make a game of it. If not, the game is over. TD pass to a wide open single WR. Game over.

Yep the loss of all those seniors (not just Palmer) may indeed be too much to overcome. Coach Lewis has his work cut out for him for sure. It still can be done to be competitive and possibly make the top 3 in the NND. If not, NHS will end up 5-5.

Best of luck on turning it around!

Yea, uvacavs seems like a good guy. No reason to get on him even IF he talked up his team.

We have seen more people talking down about teams (no matter how good they have been) than other way around.

He does seem like a good guy. Always backs his team. His district. Probably region too. His posts have energy. But........if he or anyone else can’t take someone saying that they overhyped their team, they way too sensitive. Call it like you see it.

I don't know if he took offense or not. But his talk is better than what 10 pages of drama like in a since locked thread.

I just think any positive talk is better than negative. And there is probably a majority of people who post on here who hype their team up, justified or not

I can assure you that I don’t a give a #$*@ what others say or think about me (besides my own people).

I enjoy the debate but always try to be respectful. I knew I was taking a risk with the hype...still I stand behind everything I say. When I am incorrect, I have no problem admitting it.

The facts I posted are correct. As for NHS finishing in the top 3 in the NND, that is still a distinct possibility.

If they are not in the top 3 at the end, I will have no issue saying I was wrong on that specific prediction.

Either way, Go Region A!

I know UVa Cavs and I'm certain he wasn't offended. I will just state one fact from the EHS-NHS game from last night: Northumberland didn't earn a first down by rushing or passing until the next to last play of the third quarter with Essex ahead 57-6. NHS did pick up 4 or 5 first downs via penalty prior to then.

Wnl Essex...who wins? From the talk of the season so far it sounds like wnl is the favorite. What can easex do to beat them?

That game is a few weeks away and the way things are going who knows what the records will be come the first Friday in November.

The one common opponent they have is kw but I was at the Essex KW game and the turnovers killed Essex. Definitely a part of the game and hopefully the Trojans have learned from that game. At this point in the season the eagles may be more prepared to go deeper into the season
