Personally I don't think they're scared but I do think they're working the system to gain an advantage for playoff seeding which is unfair hence I say the forfeit should be given if you don't want to make it up

No, I don't think people are knocking them because of safety concerns. I think people are knocking them because it seems Northumberland seem to have more "safety concerns" than any other team in the state of Virginia. It seems like for whatever reason, Northumberland seems to have a history of having cancelled games at a rate much higher than the rest of Class 1 teams in Virginia, and this is the reason for questioning them. Also, when there is no attempt to make the game up, that raises further speculation.
