Wasn't able to attend the 4 pm start game, but was able to catch the Page girls win over Stonewall Jackson...also, there will BE NO SEMI OR FINALS FOR CONFERENCE 35..not exactly sure how they are going to go about with seeding the 1/4 final winners, but, regional play starts next Tuesday

The administration at Page is not happy at all that the Conference is not going to at least try and get these games in. All I'll say is that you can thank the Bull Run ADs for this.

Pathetic decision....when you think of what"s at stake. a home game against a lower seed or a road game against a higer seed in the regionals. Clearly tonight games could have been played....and Sunday as well. Tough circumstances for the C-35 schools.

Are the Bull Run teams the top 2 seeds in 35?

Edit: just checked the VHSL brackets, and sure enough the Bull Run teams are 1 and 2... I would be mad too if I were Page and Luray. I'm not sure how the weather is north of us here in Staunton, but it seems to me that the 2 games could have been played yesterday and today

I had already been planning a post of my own speculating about how this did not seem fair to Page and Luray, but I see that some of you beat me to it. So to just to make sure I have a handle on the situation, is this the way it is going to shake down on Tuesday:

George Mason hosting the Wilson/Riverheads loser
Strasburg hosting the Wilson/Riverheads winner
Luray traveling to the Lee/East Rock loser
Page traveling to the Lee/East Rock winner

?????????

Yes. It starts at 6:00 and the championship game follows. East Rock fans, and Wilson too for that matter, have to divide themselves tonight. Although I guess some Wilson fans might consider going to East Rock for the 6:00 boys game and then flying back down to Wilson, hoping to catch most of the girls' title game. The ADs originally had everything planned perfectly........the games were supposed to have been on alternate nights so fans could attend everything but the weather interfered. On the original schedule, the boys would have wrapped up last night and the girls' final would be tonight.

I believe Page is going to Con. 36 next yr..if so, they will be playing teams they have more in common with...I have never liked travelling to Falls Church or Nova on a Friday eve...I'm sure Page administration wasn't happy..for one, it puts them only playing one game in two weeks and why not play tonight and either again tomorrow or Sunday...I know VHSL has made exceptions before on playing post season games on a Sunday...but I guess the ole saying holds true..majority rules..but, also, this is where the VHSL needs to have the same rules across the board. and have more enforcement power on this type of situation

Well, I guess with what I see outside right now, it appears that the decision to cancel the rest of the Conf. 35 tourney may have been the correct one except, they could have played the semis last night...not sure if it would have made any difference, but, you deal with the hand that's been dealt, not with what u want
