This was perhaps the best overall bball game I've seen all season, both teams came out with intensity and played very well...Josh Good got in foul trouble early and Leo Yates hit some amazing long threes to keep Luray in the game..Yates is a streaky shooter, when he's hot, he can't miss, when he is off, he is just the opposite..but, perhaps the real story of this game is the fact that Coach Purdham of Page got two quick technicals late in 1st qtr and was ejected...I can't remember last time I seen a high school coach ejected..there was alot of contact under Page's basket and nothing was called, so, I'm sure that the reason for his triade..back to the game-Page led at the 1/2 and in fact had the lead pretty much the entire game for the exception of first few minutes...give Luray credit, they never gave up and played very hard, this is very different team then the last time these two teams met, they will be dangerous come play off time...Page made their foul shots down the stretch to secure the win and also hats off to the Page asst. coaches for getting the win in a very intense game

The ref in question that started the entire mess with Purdham is one that every time he comes into the building gets in Coach's face within the first quarter.....every time. The guy is one that tends to make it about himself, and not the game or kids. Purdham was fired up that Dovel of Page had a charge called against him on one end of the floor and then they called a block against McKay on the other end. 2 quick fouls against Page. He wanted them to be consistent. And I'm not knocking refs, because there are some good ones out there. So this ref T'd him up and he had to sit down. He pulled his seat up near the court and they told him to move back. He inched it back and they weren't happy with that so they T'd him up a second time. But good job by Coach Rodriguez for stepping up and helping the Panthers hang on.

On another note, the Luray coach spit his gum out on the floor and left it. A ref had to pick it up. And there was a clock issue at 0:11:4.....the ref was at the table correcting the issue and the Luray coach kept yelling at the clock operator to fix it....not at the ref, but the clock operator. Man has been operating the clock for 40+ years at Page and gets paid $0. Lay off of him when he's doing his job as the ref is telling him to.

Also, towards end of game when Leo Yates fouled out, he in my opinion tried to show up the officials with some antics..even after he got to the bench he wouldn't sit down and Coach had to almost force him to sit..yet, not one official seem to see what he was doing and if they did, they could've cared less..officiating is a very difficult job, especially with today's athlete being bigger, stronger, and quicker, but, to many have no business with a whistle...I do know if a Page player had acted way that Yates did, Coach would've took quick action...but, u never see a Page player looking up in the opposing team's fans and taunt or mouth off...yes Mike Purdham gets fired up, but, a coach who cares about his team and has a passion for winning will have technicals...case in point-former coach at Central-Woodstock-Jerry Walters, I've seen him literally get right in the officials face, yet Walters was well respected.
