What happened to this once proud program? They just got blown out by a sorry Washington (WV) team, not too far from where I live. I recall this being the program to play for in Loudoun County at one point. Is it just redistricting or is it something deeper?

They only have 14 wins since 2011. They have been bad for yrs

I’ve been told that their student population has evolved to primarily Latino and Asian ethnicity. Which simply means that American football is not a popular sport with them. I don't know for a fact that this ethnicity factor is true, but if so, then it’s not a unique situation. Meadowbrook has had this happen, and what was once a premier football program is now one of the weakest in the greater Richmond area.

I have heard this too

DP, I also don't know the ethnicity numbers, but anecdotally I absolutely agree. It is obvious here in NOVA that the change in overall demographics changes a program's success in football. Not always true, but there is an obvious affect across the region if you look at it carefully. Secondly, football is, generally speaking, a sport played by larger kids and the change to a more diverse school population counters that and has an impact.

Well stated. I had not thought about the physical size difference between ethnic groups, but you are exactly right. My exposure to Latino populations are primarily Mexican and Guatemalan peoples. Almost universally the people in these groups are significantly shorter in statute than your average American. And believe it or not, the Guatemalans I’ve encountered are even smaller.

One of my companies services is to provide electrical services to apartment properties. Many of these properties cater to the Hispanic populations. The number of Hispanics that are in the greater Richmond region is enormous. Especially around the US Route 1 corridor between Richmond and Colonial Heights. In fact, when you get close to Richmond, you better be fluent in reading and speaking Spanish/Mexican. For about the first 5 miles south of Richmond along the US 1 corridor you will be convinced you are in Mexico.

All of these ethnic groups are sending their kids to school somewhere, which simply means that those schools now, and will, have a changing demographic.

According to the LCPS dashboard, Park View is 73% Hispanic. That tends not to be a recipe for success in sports other than boys' soccer. Similar deal in some of the other historically working-class areas of Northern Virginia. PV (and Manassas Park if they come back) should think about scheduling more like Thomas Jefferson and playing homeschool teams if that's what they need to do to play competitive games.
