Parry McCluer senior thrower Joshua Fischer has claimed both the Pioneer District and the Group 1A, Region C Track and Field Championships in both the Shot -Put and Discus events..
On Saturday, May 19th in Covington Va.,even though it was a muggy 90 degrees, Fischer stayed consistent with his throws in both the Shot and Discus events and walked away with the District Title!
On Saturday, May 26th at Auburn High School, Fischer struggled a bit early in the shot event with his control but eventually figured it out and claimed the Regional Title with a final heave of the steel coming in at just over 52 feet. Definitely not his best day, but he did what he needed to pull it out..
In the Discus event, Fischer held his own and had a title winning heave of the saucer on his final sling of the day coming in at 143'-6 1/4".. Again, not his strongest performance but he did enough to hold on for the win..
He's going to have his work cut out for him next week in Harrisonburg, we'll see ya there!
