Parry McCluer Senior Thrower Joshua Fischer heads into the Outdoor season with a positive attitude.

Fresh off of winning the VHSL State Title in the Men's Indoor Shot-Put competition, Fischer at 6'-5" 270 heads straight into the Outdoor session looking to continue his quest for another state title in the Outdoor Shot and quite possibly a 3rd in the Discus..

Fischer continued to improve with a strong showing at the State Meet held at Roanoke College on Wednesday, Feb. 21st finishing over 5 feet ahead of the closest competitor.

Fischer, who is currently ranked as the 4th overall thrower(out of 678 in all Classifications 1A through 6A)in the entire state just inches behind the 3rd seeded thrower looks to better his position as the first Outdoor meet quickly approaches. Fischer says his plan is simple, "just keep working hard in the weight room and working even harder in the circle, and good things will happen". "I have good Coaches and they push me everyday to get me to perform to my maximum potential and I like that. They work hard and they help to make me look good and I want to do the same for them, they deserve that"...

The PM senior says, "sitting in the 4th spot overall in the state is pretty cool but, I want to be in the top 3 and I will be in the top three".. "It's up to me to figure it out and put it all together and that's what I plan to do, just put it all together so there's no questions and I have no regrets at the end of the season". I don't want to get to the end of the year and say, "What if"? I want to get to the end of the season and be able to say I gave it everything I had and I finished where I deserved, at the top!

Best of Luck to the PM Senior the rest of the way and lest we not forget, that makes Back to Back State Champions for the Fighting Blues in throwing events.. Not to shabby for a couple of small town kids from a small town school, stepping up to do BIG TIME things..

And As Always, GO BLUES!!
