Really choppy game. Refs never had control. Game called with a couple minutes left because Norcom started a huge fight. Respect to #4 from Norcom who was showing respect after that nonsense.

Phoebus Vs Lake Taylor next week for the region crown. Just like the old days.

Yeah, Lafayette getting that extra point blocked for 21-20 really hurt down the stretch in the 4 Q strategically with LT. After a couple of first downs and under 2 minutes to go Lafayette had to let LT score to get the ball back with 27-20. Otherwise LT runs out the clock and wins 21-20. Couldn’t get past midfield on last series. Game ends. Tough loss.

When LT had the 1st down with less than 2 minutes to go and in the red zone do you think it would have been better just to run the clock down instead of scoring the TD and subsequently missing the extra point thus giving Lafayette another opportunity?

Absolutely. If reversed HC Andy Linn of Lafayette would never had made that mistake. Lafayette was out of timeouts. Three plays with the 40 second play clock and sitting on 4 th down with no snap and game would have ended 21-20 . No second chance for Lafayette . They scored with 1:43 I believe. 4 times :40 equals 1:60.
As it was the Lafayette Qb over threw Pretlow at the LT 40 and the field was pretty open. That almost cost them on that last series.

Phoebus made a mistake like this against North Stafford. Instead of doing nothing when the field kicker was obviously out of his known range, they went for the block and the roughing the kicker gave NS new life they nearly ended the Phantoms. Situation awareness like this must come from sideline leadership.
