Hey @OCBoy could you predict scores for the 4 *GOW. I edited my original post and you beat me to it. Just put the predicted score right beside your *GOW picks. Thank you.

I like your picks, but man is that a lot of road teams!
Still only allowed 500(250 each) fans in the stands. Kinda like a neutral sight game if you ask me. Remember, neither HSHS nor Maury had a home field to play on,so they both been road warriors!

Yeah, our fans were great at the Monacan game. They are obviously a highly motivated fan base right now and it certainly took away any advantage the home team may have had. The send off and reception when they returned was INCREDIBLE!!!

With the predetermined host and few fans I think a lot of road teams will win.
Mike, why do you think they don't just continue to count points? Why predetermine in a year like this when all games are remaining at the schools! I understand the college stadium games.

That’s the fortunate part about having only one high school in the county.

I’m still uncertain about that OS/Ponax game. I just tend to plug in teams right away and just stick to it, so I went with OS.
I really think this is the year for Ponax... but I don't know much about this year's OS team

Now that the games are state playoff games and not regional, why isn’t the VHSL immediately asking the Nutty Gov for an increase to 1,000 fans? More $ for VHSL and the game number is now limited for any covid impact is greatly limited.

I understand why they're having the games at the high schools rather than going to a bigger stadium. They don't have to rent the facilities and when you are only allowed 500 fans for the SF & probably not significantly more for the final, it's a money situation. As to why they didn't just use points to determine H/A, that's a good question. I'm not sure?

Haven't seen them this year, but they returned a lot and same staff so I am sure they are. Double wing pre-snap motion for the pitch man in the triple option.

It's still the triple option they've always run, but more predicated on the QB run and FB. They've also passed a lot more this year which makes them dangerous. Now they haven't faced a team like Oscar Smith who has only allowed one TD all season I believe. Ponax's defense has also stepped up this year which has been they're downfall in years past. This is going to be a very good game and both teams have great staffs. Will come down to adjustments I think once the game gets rolling.

FYI, all of Smith's games are on the NFHS Network for on-demand review. This team is very balanced offensively and the defense may not have allowed 100 yards rushing total for the whole season!

The only concern I have is how sloppy they can get with dumb penalties. It's just part of what happens with Chris Scott's teams! Luckily, this last game, they cleaned it for all but about 1/2 of the 4th quarter.

I think this is Scott's second year at Smith and they look like the Smith of years past. I'm looking forward to seeing Smith's D line match up with Ponax's D line and running QB.

Salem Stadium seats over 7000. 500 fans allowed is ridiculous. No Science involved in this decision just arbitrary ignorance.
