Looks like Halifax is going to be a force for the next few years. They have the best looking youngsters in the area. Been a long time coming.

Across the board or just specific sports? Definitely basketball and baseball will be good. What do you think about football this coming year?
Just my opinion, I think Halifax will totally dominate in basketball and baseball. Unless GW gets a stud transfer in or have some growth spurts over the summer, I don’t know if they’ll be the GW of the past 7 years. I just didn’t see much this year other than their best player in Kapone Barley, who graduates in a few days, that leads me to believe otherwise. GW will have some nice pieces in football this year and I’d think they should be able to beat Halifax. Beyond this year GW will have Poole, Watlington and Byrnes who will be seniors in 2021. From what I’ve seen on Halifax, they have some studs in their JV program and younger guys who played varsity this year. Big, fast and strong. Will they beat the Salem’s of the world? Probably not, but will still be exciting to watch in Southside. Halifax’s JV football team whipped GW this year, but GW had quite a few guys out. Halifax’s basketball team is going to be absolutely loaded this year. They have a 6’6 rising sophomore who will absolutely have his fair share of ACC offers and a couple other D1 guys in Kevon Ferell, Davon Jennings, and big Zack Carter, who will have his fair share of offers for football. They will look a lot like the GW teams of the mid to late 2000s with size and skill. I don’t believe that ANY 4A West team can beat King’s Fork this upcoming season, BUT Halifax has the ingredients to give them one hell of a game and possibly pull off an upset!

I was about to say...Being this is a fall sports board I automatically thought football. My bad...King's Fork and Wilson will both be tough again next year...Big speculation as to whether Epps leaves for Oak Hill or stays at Kings Fork.

All facts on WW. I personally thought Woodrow was better than King’s Fork this year from a team standpoint..KF was very young and raw. Woodrow played in a much tougher district and KF blew a lot of big leads with their youth. Woodrow is going to be legit this year, even though they graduate their big man. I figured Epps may not stay at KF these last two years. I hope he stays at KF, it’s good for the area.

Yea I'm happy for WW and their coach I've known him since he was in elementary school another Hopewell High product. I think Epps bounces to Oak Hill to test himself against elite talent. Hate if for the area but love it for the kids. Too many kids are fans and won't go at him.

Yessir. KF will still be pretty elite if he leaves with Ryan Hite, Q Livingston and Beale. It’s crazy to think their 4th option, their only senior contributor, still signed to play D1 ball at Hampton. That shows just good those young boys are. I thought Woodrow would beat KF in the final had they played. I was at the Regional Championship and I thought that WW got screwed by the refs. Ive been to a lot of places but ain't nothing like 757 basketball!

Yessir, Lakeland lost Que Livingston and Bravion Campbell.. Both started for KF this past year and Lakeland still won it all. That’s tough. I’m interested in seeing if Jayden Epps leaves, will Justin Fatherly transfer to KF. Hard to imagine him staying at NR and not being able to compete for a state championship when he can come to KF and play a better schedule and with a better team.

Edit: Fatherly is a senior this year.. Scratch that. Suffolk had some hoopers this year.
