It’s early but who do you all think will be the top teams and top players in the Piedmont District this season?

It’s early but who do you all think will be the top teams and top players in the Piedmont District this season?

Top echelon will be GW and Magna Vista. Kind of hard to go against those two, even though Bassett beat Magna Vista last fall. Bassett and Tunstall will be much improved and I expect Halifax to be no worst than 5-5. GW should win it but expect that those as your top 5 teams to be in the thick of things. Martinsville has the athletes and a good Coach in Bobby Martin, but depth will be a concern. Patrick County has arguably the best LB in the district in Bryson Fulcher. Hope the Bulldogs and Cougars to be able to compete with the rest of the district.

Magna Vista will be good. They may have the best O and D line in the district. They always have solid skill guys so I'd expect them to challenge GW.

Halifax County has a linebacker listed as 6'3, 215 who has been invited to play in the Blue-Grey game in Tampa this coming January. A buddy of mine says he is heading into his 4th year as a starter and has over 300 total tackles in 3 years. Has also been named to district and region teams with some interest from Richmond, Wake Forest, and University of Charleston.
