D1 Benedictine over SJPG by 35 and Bishop Ireton over Flint Hill by 10
D2 Trinity by 2 TD's over Bishop Sullivan and Blue Ridge to upset STAB by 4
D3 Shores over Covenant by 40 and NSA over NC by 20
D4 IWA over Broadwater by 20 and Roanoke Catholic over Richmond Christian by 10

Benedictine defeated Saint John Paul the Great to open the season and feel they will take the rematch too. I feel the Cadets just have too much talent especially with Duke commit Scott Bracey and Vanderbilt commit Donaven Tennyson. They are physical but can also beat you with speed. Bishop Ireton erased a 20-3 halftime deficit to defeat Flint at Flint Hill behind their backup quarterback. The starter played last week so the question is who starts at quarterback for Bishop Ireton? Flint Hill freshman Jordan Houston ran for 1400+ yards but had one of his lowest rushing totals against Bishop Ireton. I give Bishop Ireton the edge at home.

This is the fourth meeting between Bishop Sullivan and Trinity Episcopal in the last two years and Trinity Episcopal has won the last three meetings. The Crusaders were short-handed in the 1st meeting however they easily defeated Norfolk Academy who defeated Trinity Episcopal earlier this year. Trinity has several key pieces returning from their state championship team including Nevada commit Trevion Armstrong. This could be a more competitive game but I see Trinity Episcopal advancing to defend their state championship. STAB and Blue Ridge faced each other in a defensive struggle last week in a game that included a safety. Another tight contest wouldn't surprise me but I see a return trip to the State championship game for St Anne's-Belfield who are playing at home. Both teams are loaded at the skill positions with Jalen Harrison and Malik Johnson so whoever can keep the other playmakers out the endzone wins this game.

Atlantic Shores is undefeated and they have dominated both sides of the football. QB Ryan Chamberlain can stretch the field with receiver Jordan Cannady. Covenant has received 500 rushing yards from bruising freshman Moe Weaver but if the Seahawks get ahead it will make it tough for Covenant. There best chance is to control the time of possession with their running game but I don't see them pulling the upset. Edge to Atlantic Shores. The North Cross - Nansemond Suffolk game comes down to the Raiders ability to stop William & Mary commit Noah Giles. The Saints execute the Wing T with precision and slowing down their rushing attack is no easy task. North Cross counters with receiver Jordan Lowery who has an offer from VMI. Star linebacker Davis Call missed parts of the first matchup but I still see Nansemond-Suffolk Academy moving on to the title game.

The first game between 1st year school Richmond Christian and defending State champs Roanoke Catholic was the best game I watch this year (although Benedictine-Woodberry Forest was pretty good too). The Warriors started strong but were hampered by the loss of senior Aaron Monts who was injured. Roanoke Catholic appeared to get stronger with RB Chris Zoller and they started to control the line of scrimmage. This game has the potential to be the best Private school game this weekend. I probably could flip a coin, but I'm going with the experience and Roanoke Catholic to win in this matchup. I also believe Isle of Wight will advance to the championship game with a win over Broadwater Academy. The Chargers scored 60 points in the first meeting but led by only 6-points at halftime. Quarterback Bryce Casey , who says has an offer from Chowan, threw 3 td's in the first meeting. I didn't see Broadwater Academy play this year but I still see Isle of Wight Academy winning at home.

Agree, a very tall order for the Raiders of North Cross as they make the road trip to Suffolk tonight .The numbers game will once again favor the opposition as North Cross takes on yet another 'David
vs.Goliath " match up .
Bringing in a new QB this year replacing 3 year two way starter
Max Revercomb was no easy task, but first year Miles Lowman was doing a great job .Unfortunately, he suffered a broken collarbone midway through the season .( The team ended up with 4 separate shoulder injuries) yet has persevered.
Versatile Soph Narik Bailey has stepped in and done an admirable job depute no experience at the position.
NC will have to be able to stop Nansemond's potent offensive attack
to stay in this game .At the same time, they must be able to out points on the board as well .
Looks like a cool, breezy night for football tonight .

Yo Rustonrifle… You having a cocktail or are fingers too big for the smartphone keyboard while you are driving down 460? Watch out for the speed traps. Four shoulder injuries. Brutal.

Chief , the fingers aren't as nimble as they once were......
Made it down and back ,no issues although I did witness the men in uniforms doing their jobs.
As I previously stated , NC played their worst half of football, got too
far behind and had to play catch up.
Still ,I am very proud of their 7-4 season and anxiously await next years team .Yes, we lose some key players but still feel the Raiders will be a team to contend with when it's all said and done .
