Parry McCluer senior thrower Joshua Fischer stepped up big again today sealing the 1st Place spot in the Men's 12 lb. Shot-Put event with another "NEW PERSONAL BEST" THROW OF 57'-3" which came on his final heave of the day and finishing a close 2nd to William Fleming senior, Tyreek Hunt who had a winning throw in the Discus of 150'..
The meet, which hosted thirty-three (33) teams from all over Central and Southwest Virginia was held at Radford High School, as the "49th All American Radford Relays" Track and Field Meet and was again a huge success and provided another great day of "PR's" and filled with excitement..
All told, there were sixty four (64) total throwers in both the Shot-Put and Discus events and
Hunt (2nd in the Shot @ 52'-3") and Fischer battled all afternoon in both the Shot and Discus competition and Fischer still had a chance for the sweep on his last spin of the Disc, and would have with a thunderous throw of just over 160' however, on the release the 1.6 kilogram saucer sailed to the right and fell just outside of the sector and Fischer finished out the day in the Discus with a foul and thus placing him in the #2 spot..
Congratulations to Joshua Fischer and Tyreek Hunt on their wins today and on to the next one.....
And as always, GO BLUE!!!
