Portsmouth Christian didn't expect to have a tough time defeating Denbigh Baptist and the Patriots ran away with an easy 78-18 win in the Metro Conference Tournament at Alliance Christian School. The Patriots led 44-1 at halftime and Denbigh Baptist didn't score their 1st field goal until the four minute mark of the 3rd quarter.
The Patriots were led by freshman Jaden Curry who scored 15 points and Xavier Austin who added 10 points. Portsmouth Christian played most of the game with their 3rd string bench players as most of the starters received the night off after the 1st quarter.
Portsmouth Christian will face the winner of the Broadwater Academy - Hampton Christian quarterfinal matchup.
