How they got here
Fredericksburg Christian enter the D3 playoffs undefeated with a 9-0 record and the #1 seed. They defeated two D1 schools and they have wins over two playoff teams. The Eagles use a pounding running attack to churn out yards and control the clock. North Cross finished 6-4 this year winning their final two games (including a big win over Covenant) to make the playoffs. The Raiders defeated Fredericksburg Christian in a 2011 playoff game on their way to the D3 State championship.
Players to Watch
James Plourde leads the team with 602 yards and eight scores. Junior Blair Lawson added 566 yards while Brandon Braxton and Robert Evans both totaled over 225 yards. The Eagles were effective mixing in the pass with 11 touchdowns among their 45 team receptions. Quarterback Darius Carter passed for 694 yards with eight touchdowns against one interception. Malik White is one of the states top lineman. Freshman Robert Evans was credited with over 100 tackles including 64 solo stops. Josh Hill was credited with 13.5 sacks and 60 tackles. Byron Crosby was selected as Vapreps Defensive Player of the Week during the year. Jon Hall had three interceptions and four pass defensed.
Quarterback Max Revercomb has had a stellar career and he is a finalist for the Virginiapreps All-State Quarterback after throwing for 2492 yards and 323 touchdowns. Jordan Lowery ended the regular season with 11 touchdowns, 50 receptions and 933 receiving yards. Ryan Dent scored eight touchdowns to go along with 38 receptions and 581 yards. Isaiah Harris was the leading rusher with 321 yards in seven games. Junior linebacker Davis Call has 8.5 sacks, 11 hurries, and 107 tackles.
