Offensive Player of the week




Bishop O Connell senior quarterback Michael Galvan was voted Virginiapreps Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Knights to a season opening win over Paul VI. Half of Galvan's completions went for touchdowns and he finished 12 of 17 passing for 297 yards and six touchdowns. He also added 46 yards rushing with most of those resulting in a first down. Galvan barely beat out Noah Giles of Nansemond-Suffolk for the award.


Defensive Player of the week

Christchurch cornerback Daquon Frisby was selected Virginiapreps Private School Defensive Player of the Week after collecting four solo tackles, two interceptions and a pass defensed. He returned his first interception 64-yards for a score on the final play of the first half.



Special Teams Player of the week

Atlantic Shores returner Jordan Cannady was selected Virginiapreps Private School Special teams Player of the Week. Cannady who had two punt return for touchdowns returning the two kicks for 75 and 72 yards each.

Will: I nominate Noah Giles of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Accounted for around 250 yards of total offense. Scored 4 td's and returned the opening kick off about 85 yards for a td.

IWA Charger quarterback Bryce Casey "pitched" a perfect game completing 7 for 7, for 171 yards and 2 TDs and running for another during the 47-0 win against Portsmouth Christian.

Christchurch Fernando Lewis - Offensive POW


Christchurch senior running back Fernando Lewis led the rushing attack with 118 yards on 11 carries during the Seahorses 53-28 win over Blue Ridge. He also scored two touchdowns.

Paul VI Paul Wiles Nominated Special Team


Paul VI senior Paul Wiles had almost 200 return yards with most of that coming via kickoffs in the Panthers game against Bishop O Connell. He also gained 75 yards.

Lee Parkhill - Private School Offensive POW


Quarterback Lee Parkhill threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns to help St Anne's-Belfield defeat Norfolk Academy.

Max Revercomb completed 20 of 26 passes for 265 yards and four touchdowns for North Cross in their win over Virginia Episcopal.

Bishop O Connell Brandon Magee


Bishop O Connell receiver Brandon MaGee's three receptions all resulted in touchdowns as the Knights defeated their rival Paul VI. Magee scored on pass receptions covering 18, 29, and 50 yards.
