I tried to secure stats for the quarterbacks of the top 8 teams in Region B, but could only find a few. Any help would be appreciated. I have added a little blurb on each. Whose the best and why?

Myles Derricott - Varina: Led his team to the state title last year. Good runner and accurate passer. Makes sound decisions. No stats available.

Cole Elrod - Hanover: Big bodied qb. Can beat you deep in football and baseball. Bruising runner with deceptive speed. Nice touch on his throws. No stats available.

Zach Ferguson - King George: Accurate passer and capable runner. Good touch on the long ball and can escape the rush. Stats: ( 6 games only) 1,105 yards passing 18 tds, 3 int's. 254 yards rushing 5 tds. Updated....

Dylan Travillion - Powhatan: Very young, but talented. Very accurate passer. Has thrown for over 200 yards twice this season. No stats available.

D'myo Hunter- Eastern View:. Very fast and elusive. A bit undersized, but gets the job done. Works out of the pocket very well. Stats: (5 games) 754 yards passing 12 tds 0 int's. 380 yards rushing 4 tds.

Grayson Johnson - PH Ashland: Tough runner and average passer. Plays linebacker, so you know he likes it physical. No stats available.

Riley Justice- Matoaca:. Another small, but capable qb. He throws on the run very well and finds his receivers. Average runner, but he rarely do so. Stats: (7 games) 946 yards passing 10 tds and 5 int's. 1 rushing td.

Harry Dalton - Dinwiddie: Very strong running sophomore qb. Played tail back as a freshman. Throws the ball with pace. Stats (7 games) 1037 yards passing 17 tds with 6 int's. 826 yards rushing with 13 tds.

Got your back on a few of these...

Dylan Trevillian of Powhatan through 7 games has completed 60 of 115 passes for 968 yards and 14 TD's with just 3 INT's. 25 carries for 262 yards rushing.

Patrick Henry there are two QB's actually. Grayson Johnson has QB'd 5 games and is 13 of 24 passing for 147 yards & 2 TD's and 2 INT's. Has rushed for 169 yards on 41 carries and 2 TD's. Jayden Brown on the other hand has QB'd 7 games where he has completed 61 of 114 passes for 846 yards with 10 TD's & 2 INT's. Brown has 44 yards on 25 carries.

Then there is Varina's Myles Derricott who has completed 70 of his 104 attempts for 1,233 yards and 18 TD's through 7 games. Rushing he has 33 carries for 223 yards and 2 scores.

Region D has three really good quarterbacks in Louisa's Landon Wilson, EC Glass George White and Salem's Damon Wilson. In the old days Salem and Louisa liked to run it down your throats. Now it seems they are more prone to sling it. Can any of you Region D fans shed some light on these three? Any playoff contender qb's I may have missed?

Wilson is 4 yr starter and has improved each year but has rushed a lot less this year but is very effective when he does. He has a laser for 25-30 yards out and average long pass but nice touch. The 2 and 5 have opened up his passing game. The 2 hurt his shoulder last week but not sure how bad.

Had the chance to watch him play every year so I concur. I watched him with my own eyes have 200+ yards rushing on Glass last year as him and Smith did it all for Louisa last year. I’d say he’s the best QB in Class 4.

A lot of people don’t realize that if you take Powhatan or Hanover or PH out of the gauntlet of Region B and place them in Region D or C, those teams are state championship contenders. B is the toughest region in the state, regardless of class. CONSISTENTLY.
Facts! Can you imagine if Monacan was having a normal season? Lord have mercy.

I agree. A team or two rotates up or down most years, but it’s always a darn gauntlet to get to the semis out of B

With the beat down that PH took last night, it raises two questions.
Is PH vulnerable to being beaten easily by top teams? And, is Hanover the team to beat to play in the semi finals?

Only a fool would dismiss PH outright, but Hanover obviously had their way on both sides of the ball. At a minimum, it appears that PH cannot handle the inside run, because you know that is Hanovers bread and butter. And the PH offense must not be very good, because the Hawks kept them scoreless for much of the game. Or is the Hanover defense just that damn good?

Anyone at this game and can add some insight?
