On the NFHS Network, I occasionally see a listing for some Virginia schools for Coed JV of Freshman foorball. Is Coed football a real thing? We all know that the occasional young lady plays on a football team, but does coed football mean that it’s structured to have a certain number of boys and girls on the field as a rule?

Strictly a guess from checking the website but I'd imagine when NFHS goes to list a broadcast they have a big list of all potential sports they cover so that you can also search by that when trying to find a game e.g. men's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, etc. they've got to label it something, right? So when they go on the website to do this there's probably a big list that pops up in alphabetical order and the next thing alphabetically under "Junior Varsity Boys Football" is probably "Junior Varsity Coed Football" so whoever listed that Louisa vs Goochland game tonight probably just mislabeled it. Additionally, a quick check tells me Louisa is finishing their season this Friday against Goochland and a quick trip to Louisa's football program website tells me they have their boys JV game against Goochland tonight so yea, simply a mislabeled event.
