Thought maybe a little change of pace might be good for the board. Here goes.....
The 2015 season marks the 51st meeting between the two. In 1961 Radford won the first game 20-7. Giles won 14-12 the next season, then Radford scored a 32-7 victory in 1963. The series was interrupted for the '64, '65, '66 and '67 seasons.
Resumed in 1968, Radford ran off 11 straight wins before the Spartans turned the tide in '79 with a 27-0 win. That Giles shutout was the first of 3 consecutive whitewashings for the Spartans. It also marked the first time Giles was able to garner back to back wins.
The Cats took control in '84 and notched 3 straight shutouts of their own on the way to 8 straight series wins. Giles reeled off six straight wins before the Cats struck again in '97.
The 21st century ushered in probably the most competitive decade in the competition. Each team won six games from '00 until '09. Radford has not won since 2010.
Radford leads the series 28 to 22.
There have been 4 one point games; 2 two point games; only one 3 point games and 13 games decided by 7 points or less. There have been 30 games decided by 14 or more points; 22 of them by 21 points or more and 11 by 28 or more.
Hopefully, this was not too boring!
