Rapp 59 Nandua 21

@trutiger16 , first week and we talking about a matchup that may never happen? Riverheads would have to win a revamped Region B and Rapp would have to win a tough Region A to get to that game. I agree that Rapp is going to be a handful for anyone they face this year but there are a good many teams that have a legitimate shot this year.

I know you’re right exactly right , I’m trying my best to deflect from my Tigers man just hope we can catch you all slipping, but that dam coach of yours is something else lol. But Rapp is the real deal , if they can overcome Essex they are on there way.

I don’t care who the opponent is with that type pass run balance they are scary good.

Agreed, looks like a player of the year contender in Gaines. Now I see why there were some grumblings about him not being considered for more post season awards. If this pace continues he better have some shelf space for hardware this year.

Congrats to Rapp on the start!

I am fairly confident that we are going to have a major controversy in the Neck down the road. Hopefully, it will work out.

Rapp's QB Gaines is awesome - no doubt. I am pulling for him. Definitely a State POY candidate.

However, as I mentioned before, the Neck might have the two best QB's in the state this year.

Northumberland's QB Mason Adams threw for 1,505 yards and 16 TDs in just ten games last year.

Now Adams has had a full year to work under Coach Lewis. Look out.

Rappahannock and Northumberland had this same issue in another sport last season as well.

Both schools had awesome kids deserving of all 1st team all State honors.

The NHS kid, one of the best players at their positions I have observed, did not even make 1st team all District which meant he was was not eligible for all Region and All State honors. He is one of the best at his position I have seen in 20 years and I have been around many all state players.

Ain't happening again....I am sure it will work out.

Essex has a good one in Ashlock as well. With Essex going back to the spread, he could put up good numbers as well. Another I'll add, is Malik Holmes of King and Queen. He is only a freshman but has a good arm, speed and is already a team leader. The only scrimmage KQ had was against Rappahannock and he played well considering the opposition. That scrimmage, he was also without the starting rb, starting center, top wr and a few other key players. KQ has 30 kids on their roster, (only 22 were in the picture in the paper because 8 were out with injuries or vacation, but all are back now) which is a good amount for a school with only 150. They have a good mix of seniors who are leaders and an extremely talented group of freshmen. It's all about putting it together now, but Coach Waters has done a great job in preparing them. I look for them to surprise some people this year.

I am pulling for King and Queen big time! Go Tigers!

I knew Coach Waters from back in the Essex days. He has a great football mind and is devoted to his kids and program.

I'm not with the program this year because of personal issues, but I still help him break down film, compile stats etc. and we spend a lot of time talking about football. A great coach, but an even better friend.

Gaines is the real deal. RHS can easily beat teams with just running Gaines--big kid, moves well, hard to tackle. True dual threat QB.
