Sussex Central's quarterback Malik Delk finds daylight on his way to the endzone.

SUSSEX- The Sussex Central-Southampton rivalry looked like it was going to be a defensive struggle after the first 12 minutes of the contest. Southampton was looking for a key victory in order to get a jump on the rest of the season. The Indians had the ball deep in Tiger territory as a result of stopping them on 4th down. Southampton could not move the ball versus a stingy run defense for Sussex Central and after two possessions inside the Tiger 30, there would be no other scoring threats.

In the second, quarterback Malik Delk would break a scoreless game by pulling away from the defense for a 75-yard touchdown run. He would get the conversion making it 8-0 Tigers.

Southampton would try to go to the air but couldn’t make the grabs in the rain. An’Tae Motton would capitalize on some good blocks and race 54 yards for a touchdown giving the Tigers a 14-0 lead with 5:45 left before halftime.

Delk would get another big run and would go down at the 1-yard after scampering 52 yards on a run. Motton would do the honors and cash in the score giving Sussex Central a 20-0 lead.

In the 2nd half the Tiger’s Delk would be off to the races again on a 45 yard run for the touchdown while Motton would get the conversion. 28-0 Sussex Central was in complete control.

The dynamic duo of Delk and Motton ruled the night propelling the Tigers forward. Trevon Hatch would show his skills going 45 yards for a touchdown run midway in the 3rd to make it 34-0. Motton would add a 30-yard run to conclude the scoring to make it 40-0 Tigers.
