Region B Tournament Thread

Bracket is set:

R.E. Lee (S1) vs. Clarke County (B4)
Madison County (B2) vs. Stuarts Draft (S3)
Central (B1) vs. Wilson Memorial (S4)
East Rockingham (S2) vs. George Mason (B3)

Lee should dominate Clarke.
Madison vs. Draft could be an interesting matchup. You just never know what you’re going to get with a game against the Cougars. Either way, neither of them are beating Lee in Round 2.
Some people have said Wilson might be able to beat Central. They’re scrappy, but I don’t think they have the weapons to do it. Although, the Falcons haven’t been firing as effectively on offense lately.
East Rockingham should beat George Mason based on what I’ve heard/seen.

Lee cruises to championship.
I think East Rock beats either Central or Wilson. They’d have to travel to Central (they split regular season), but I’m going to give ER the edge because I think they’ll do a good job defensively on CHS.

Lee beats whoever they play in final.

That will be a Shenandoah sweep except MAYBE Mason over Draft.

I agree with your picks. I'm not so sure about the Lee cruising part. Not long ago I posted a prediction for Lee and East Rock in the region final. I'm sticking with it now and believe it even more.

Lee will cruise past Clarke, and they match up well with Draft's press. If instead it is Madison next in the semifinal at Lee, I will take Lee in that one too. Before the regions there is the game tomorrow. I expect East Rock and Lee to play a close one. I will pick Lee since it is at their house.

I think East Rock will dispatch Mason by at least 15 and knock off Central by 10. I have a hunch Wilson will test Central, but I’m not willing to go out on the limb and say beat Central. I will leave it at Central in a close one. Lol.

In the final I will pick Lee in a good contested game. I also agree with your next post about the state final four including two Region B teams. Lee gets their pub , but East Rock is playing better of late, well coached, good defense, and a solid big man inside to open up options on offense.

Lee should win over Clarke

Madison and Draft is a toss up. Madison plays a lot of lower scoring games and they may not be ready for Draft's run and gun style. If Draft's hitting their three's they win...if not Madison can pull it out.

East Rock over Mason by 5 or so.

Wilson over Central by 2....my upset special lol.

Semifinals:

Lee wins but I'm not saying that Madison or Draft can't give Lee trouble. As a poster said earlier...Madison stunned the Leemen last year.

East Rock over Wilson by 5 or so.

Final:

Lee by 2 over East Rock. I think tonight will be interesting as to where these teams or how these teams matchup at this point of the season.

One thing is for sure...never assume anything in the postseason...upsets happen and make this time of year fun. With that said I hope Lee makes another run. Good luck to all teams moving forward!

I remember it well. If East Rock had been made to go there, Jefferson could make it from one baseline to the other in three strides!
