As far as I know, the 4 Regions in Class 3 have NOT officially decided to send 8 teams to the playoffs. I have no information on which to base this, but an 8 team per region seems like a logical choice.

Assuming this will be the format, pick the 8 teams that YOU think will be playoff bound after 10 regular season games. I know that this can be a little tough, since only about 1/3 of the teams have released their full schedules.

Pick your teams in order of #1 to #8. And keep this in mind when you rank your teams, VHSL points!
A 6-4 team could well be ranked #2 or #3 because of points.

And, pick one, and only one #9 wildcard team that you think could very well make the playoffs if the stars line up.

This list is in alphabetical order, and comes from the VHSL website.

REGION B, 12 Schools

ARMSTRONG
BRENTSVILLE DISTRICT
CULPEPER
THOMAS JEFFERSON RICHMOND
MANASSAS PARK
JOHN MARSHALL
JAMES MONROE
WILLIAM MONROE
SKYLINE
SPOTSYVANIA
WARREN COUNTY
GEORGE WYTHE RICHMOND

Wow, that is an incredibly weak region. I only see two, maybe three, teams that will have a regular season record better than .500 in football.

I can't argue with you at all. JM, and about three more, and then the rest are historically weak teams.

It they decide on 8 teams, some kids will get the chance to experience a playoff game, that otherwise would not.

Not sure what Skyline is going to have this upcoming year, I know Warren has a new coach, could be another tough year for Front Royal football.

No love for Tee Jay? I'm hearing that they could be pretty good this year. No Herm, no Freeman!

I still don't see anything better than 5-5.

I think they'll get about 6-7 wins but 5-5 would do. I work with a couple of TJ kids and they told me that there is excitement over there for this upcoming season so that's why I asked. I think they have a D1 kid and a couple other nice athletes. I'd like to see all of the Richmond City Schools do well.

You and I have talked about this topic many times. ANYTHING positive that those kids in Richmond can be exposed to is a great thing. Athletics of any type is one of the few proven avenues to affect the path they take. And even with a truly successful athletic option, it's a crap shoot, (i.e. the loss of the kid from Danville recently). Let's hope TJ football will be one of those positives.
