I was at a wedding this weekend in Newport News. Stayed at an Airbnb in Hampton right over by Phoebus High. Naturally, I had to take a walk around the neighborhood and check out the high school...it was awesome to see the community of a school that has now won FOUR straight football titles in Class 4. Had a very nice conversation with an older gentlemen who clearly loved the Phantoms. Just cool to see the talent so clearly at Phoebus does not come from high-tech training gyms and private school funding...just a bunch of HARD working high school kids supported by their community to play football in dominating fashion. High school sports rule.
