Got to Visit Phoebus

I was at a wedding this weekend in Newport News. Stayed at an Airbnb in Hampton right over by Phoebus High. Naturally, I had to take a walk around the neighborhood and check out the high school...it was awesome to see the community of a school that has now won FOUR straight football titles in Class 4. Had a very nice conversation with an older gentlemen who clearly loved the Phantoms. Just cool to see the talent so clearly at Phoebus does not come from high-tech training gyms and private school funding...just a bunch of HARD working high school kids supported by their community to play football in dominating fashion. High school sports rule.

I never said they didn’t-truly have no knowledge to speak on the subject. I’ve been to Salem too-loved Mac and Bob’s and one of the Salem state champ teams picture in the Chick-fil-a.

It's not recruiting when the kids and parents flock to the program with no poking and prodding from from staff or boosters.
Everyone down here knows these young men have been playing together since they were in elementary school. They have more kids move out for playing time at other schools than they have moving in,,,,LOL. And the coaches are good with that and enjoy seeing those young men suceed elsewhere. Success breeds hate...my gracious. That staff and those kids work harder than other program in the the PD and it shows.
