Richlands @ Wilson Memorial

Yep. That same typical slow, plodding SWVA team who has beaten some of the fastest teams in the state in the past decade. Keep on thinking you'll just run around us. We'll just run through you.

No.....WM will run through you....they run the double wing. Hope your defensive coordinator and head coach are familiar with this scheme and how to defend it. If not....it will be a LONG day for the Tornado.

He has no association with WMHS

Just a mouthy fan from another school trying to stir up the pot

Re: He has no association with WMHS

You call me mouthy? Nice smart@$$ thread directed to XCross earlier.

Secondly....who asked you anyway. Keep your $#!t out of my conversations.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Looking forward to having you guys up here. Quite a ride for your team and fans! Lots of good places to grab a bite to eat and things pre game around here though! Hope you guys bring a good crowd

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Fiesty are we!? When XCROSS calls people at our school nothing but "White Collared Subdivision Kids with no mental toughness" and tells us enjoy our Brunswick stew you bet I will make a post to him.

You must be someone still in high school who's mad about their team playing basketball already with a post like that

Richlands Coach (Mance) played on the 1980 Giles Championship team so since we can't win it we'd like to keep it in the family.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

You don't agree with my assessment Mr. Football? Does WM run the double wing? Do they shove it down people's throats? Are teams from different areas not too familiar with the double wing hence making it difficult for them to defend it? (See Brunswick)

Enlighten me PLEASE? I doubt you will ...

Re: He has no association with WMHS

We generally travel very well. There's a saying in our town, "Last one out, turn off the lights." I don't know the size of the bleachers up there, but I think we will bring a large crowd. Looking forward to seeing football in a new venue.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

I agree with parts. We are fast and physical and our offense is difficult to defend. But I refuse to say a team is slow and plodding just because they are from SWVA and that we will just run through them. Am I confident in my team? Yes. But I will not thrash a team who is also in the state semis. Their kids are there for a reason as well

Re: He has no association with WMHS

For a 2A squad I like to think we have a top notch facility.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

So my assessment based on my knowledge and witnessing teams from that area, which in turn is MY OPINION is considered "bashing"?

Its MY OPINION...this freakin' board is full of them....

So again....quit trolling looking to start $#!t.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

I sir, am the last one here "starting" things. I'm only stating that a team who has made their way to the state semis deserves a little more respect than you seem to be giving them

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Geez..whatever Trevor....go away please....go start a thread about how WM and Fishersville is utopia....

Or how you are the chivalrous High School Football Knight that defends everyone's honor...

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Not everyone. Don't really care for much in Greenville or Elkton. You sir seem to be the one putting Wilson Memorial on a pedestal.

By the way are you still in school or do you just make posts with the maturity level of a 10th grader?

Hopefully you too can come enjoy a good football game this Saturday
you are entitled to your opinion and while I hope it is correct my opinion is to not back you up on it

SWVA guy myself. RIchlands has a very good Quarterback that can make any throw he needs. Hard hitting defense aswell. Should be a dandy.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

That is a silly question my man. He got involved in this thread because one of the 2 teams playing is the team that he cheers for, so the question should be given to you.

Now calling him Mr. Football and all that, I don't know why you are doing it, but from what I have seen Trevor doesn't act like he knows it all. I dislike Wilson more than any other school, but that goes back to when I played and coaching against them, and yes SOME of their fans. Trevor is not one of them.

But, you may want to rethink what you are saying about slow/plodding when it comes to Richlands and not being about to keep up with Wilson because of their speed/athletes. They just faced what is always a fast and athletic team in Gate City and beat them.

Now as for what Wilson runs, you say they run a double wing. Well someone with all that vast knowledge you have would know that "double wing" wouldn't tell anyone anything. There are quite a few different offenses that use "double wing." They could be running Wing T, Flexbone, etc. They could even run a variation based off a single wing offense called the spinner or furthermore you can have a Shotgun Double Wing offense. Then there is what kind of "double wing" offense they are running, whether it be a spread out version that would be a passing team, a power running team, an offense based off of motions and sweeps (jets and rockets), they could be a triple option team from "double wing"

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Wing T and Double Wing are not the same and if you think they are that shows how much you know. Secondly Waynesboro runs the flex bone. No where close to what WM runs.

You like to mention your vast coaching experience. What level did you coach on?

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Also....ask any coach / player or fan with ANY knowledge what Wilson runs. I would venture to say that all of them will say "double wing".

So you can make this as "complicated" as you want with offensive terminology critique if you want to.

Again....what level did you coach on? I would really like to know....as would many here.

Re: He has no association with WMHS

Who ever said that Wilson and Waynesboro's offense was the same? I am sure that a lot of people would say that Wilson ran a double wing, that isn't wrong to say, was just stating that there are many forms of a double wing. And what you had said that double wing and wing t are different, they are. There are a lot of Wing T plays that come from 2 wings formation. Wing T is based on series football, starting with the originator Tubby Raymond. There are many different types of a traditional Wing T as well.

As for vast coaching knowledge, I have never said that and never said I was smarter than anyone. Most I have ever said on here was that I would have a different point of view than a normal fan. Not even that it was the right view. You were answering a question for someone who had asked what Wilson ran, I was just trying to say that someone who really needed the info would need more information than just double wing, nowhere did it disparage you. If that is how you took it then I apologize. And I think I have said it on here that I am no longer coaching so I dont coach at any level.

Hope you have a great day

Re: He has no association with WMHS

It's okay Gunz. This guy knows all.

I'm just happy he's taking our side for a change

Thanks guys for the entertainment, lol! Good luck to both WM and Richlands, but have to pull for district foe WM. Roll Red Pride!
