Obviously 5A is where the most teams from the Richmond Region come from...

In 5A North:
#13 Atlee at #4 Broad Run

In 5A South:
#8 Meadowbrook at #1 LC Bird
#7 Matoaca at #2 Highland Springs
#6 Henrico at #3 Hermitage
#5 Douglas Freeman at #4 Lee-Davis

Atlee held put at the 13 spot for the second week in a row after starting as a 10th seed four weeks ago.

Meadowbrook remains in the 8 spot in the South, they have coveted that spot for three out of the last four weeks.

Matoaca after their second straight loss stays put in the 7, they have split the last four weeks between the 6th and 7th seeds.

Henrico has bounced around having been the 7th seed after weeks 5 and 6 and moving up to the 5th seed last week only to fall to 6th this week.

Douglas Freeman was a 3rd seed four weeks ago and has bounced between 4th and 5th ever since. The crazy part is they are undefeated and have dropped but that is just an example of the difference in the schedules of them and the four schools ahead of them.

Lee-Davis dropped to 6th after losing to Highland Springs but returned to the 4th spot for the third time in four weeks.

Hermitage fell from 2nd to 3rd this week flip flopping with the Springers. This is again odd being as the Panthers did not lose and is the lone team to beat Highland Springs this season.

Over the last four weeks Highland Springs has climbed from the 5th seed to the 2nd seed.

LC Bird, no surprise has been in control of the top seed from the start.

Atlee's biggest obstacle is Varina this week as Armstrong comes in the finale. At worst I believe the Raiders will go 1-1, if they are able to go 2-0 however I could see the Raiders moving up to the 12th seed possibly but getting further than that is not likely.

Meadowbrook entertains Prince George this week and then has Dinwiddie in the finale. 1-1 is likely, 2-0 and is not out of the question. Anything other than 0-2 should see the Monarchs retuurn to the playoffs as the 8th seed. If Matoaca continues to falter, it's possible the two could swap spots.

Matoaca has Colonial Heights this week and Thomas Dale in the finale. 1-1 is likely and that should be enough to keep the Warriors in the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed.

Henrico has Lee-Davis and Hanover to close out the season. They are one of the teams in this picture that I have the least certainty about . I know they have a good defense but beating both Lee-Davis and Hanover might be a tall order. I could see the Warriors finishing 1-1 or 0-2. Either way the Warriors could drop another spot if they lose both.

Honestly 6 thru 8 is very uncertain even two weeks out. We know who is likely in but we just don't know where.

Douglas Freeman hosts Mills Godwin this week and then closes out the season with what should be an undefeated Hermitage. Win or lose against Hermitage, the Rebels will likely remain in the 5 spot unless Lee-Davis were to falter against Henrico or Patrick Henry.

So we know Lee-Davis has Henrico and Patrick Henry to finish up the season. It's highly unlikely that the Confederates could catch the big three; Hermitage, Highland Springs or Bird but if the Confederates do not take care of business, they could concede the 4th spot to Douglas Freeman.

Hermitage has Glen Allen this week which should be no problem for the Panthers and then a currently undefeated Douglas Freeman Rebels team at home to close out the season. Win both and the Panthers might swap spots with the Springers the 2nd seed. I don't believe a loss to Freeman would be enough to send them to the fourth seed.

Highland Springs closes out with Patrick Henry and Varina, the Springers will be favored in both and should take them both. If that happens, the Springers should be the second seed without question.

LC bird like Highland Springs will be favored in their final two, those being Huguenot and James River. win out and the top seed remains with the Skyhawks.
