I'll be rooting for the winner of C v. D, but Riverheads is a freaking machine. Essex is legit as he'll but I can't see them pulling off the upset.

I freely admit that Essex is the team remaining I know the least about, but what I've seen is a very good team. But Riverheads is just a monster, they will be a 10 point favorite over any remaining 1A team.

Both games should be within 10 points. As I stated on another thread, if the weather is as bad as predicted, it wouldn’t surprise me to see 10-8 scores. Both home teams play on grass field which will certainly take a bath before game day.

I am worrying more and more about this weather, but when you get to this point, the VHSL has deadlines to enforce and I think it is just the luck of the draw what kind of weather these games will be played in. I guess we have had some 70 degree sunny days in the past and then we have had some of what we are apparently going to have Saturday. I just listened to the latest forecast and even moving the games to Monday, which I know won't happen, would not help because the forecast doesn't look that much better. It is what it is.

Two blue collar, smashmouth football teams going at it. Neither team is going to pass much anyways, so it won't affect that. Lol. Will be just a lot of power running in the slop. The real winner, this season is definitely mother nature. Lol

Rain is the great equalizer. Really bad weather means anything may happen.

I always thought this was basic sports 101.

However, it seems many folks don't agree with those concepts. To each his own thoughts.

Riverheads is the heavy favorite. Bad weather can only help an underdog, in this case Essex (yes, I know the playing styles of both.)

Let it storm....

I agree weather brings teams closer together

I am not sure who is doing all this voting but I am surprised that so many have picked a blow out. I personally just don’t see it. A closely contested game is what I expect with a mistake costing field position or a possession. Just my take
Im with you on that. 3 pt game last year and if it werent for all the personal fouls Essex probably wins that game. I think it can go either way especially if it rains. Bad weather seems to be the big equalizer.

The TV 29 forecast now makes it sound as if we will get a few showers Friday, maybe a few more in the morning hours Saturday, and then a break for the middle part of the day with showers picking up again in the mid to late afternoon. Total accumulation is not expected to be more than .25 inch. So it might not be a mud bowl after all.

I don’t think any of us Riverheads fans on here really think it’s going to be a blow out it will be a tight game and when the dust settles (probably won’t be much dust ) I hope Riverheads comes out on top but I don’t think we will know until late in the game who the winner will be

Only Riverheads fans say it will close - smart you don't want your players too overconfident

3 hours to game time a little rain in the area but looks like it’s going to move out for awhile then move back in so may be rain free game
