Gladiators took care of business early jumping out to a 30-0 halftime lead. Miller scored 3 first half touchdowns highlighted by about a 55 yard punt return after the Cougars failed to move the ball on their opening possession. Draft had trouble moving the ball all evening thanks to the suffocating defense by the Gladiators. Lightner accounted for the other first half touchdown with a short run.

Second half was about the same with rushing TD scores by Burton and Cash. Gladiators only threw the ball about 5-6 times and I can’t recall any incompletions including 2 successful passing 2pt conversions. The Dunlap to Lightner combination continued to be effective.

Next week the JV’s will host the Eagles from East Rock.

I will say that I am not surprised by the Gladiators winning this one, but the margin surprises me.
