You've got to have matching open dates. I'm guessing Franklin is still playing a full Tri-Rivers District schedule that leaves just 4 open dates to play 3 nondistrict opponents

Hey, there's some good news. I get to travel to Riverheads.

While it's a long trip, the school is right off the Interstate. Easy to find and easy to depart but will have to be patient with traffic.
I also understand Essex is in need of a 10th game.

I know in the old days I went to Buffalo Gap and Wilson Memorial. But I can't remember if I went to Riverheads.

No, staying in 1A per the last statewide meetings.

The three 2A and two 3A teams are district games. The out of district looks stout with ER, Glenvar and W&L. I don’t think Skyline has been extremely competitive over the last few years but I am not that familiar with them honestly.

Kind of surprised Central did not sign on for another couple of years and for the life of me I can’t see why Rockbridge and/or PM are not on there.

Both of the latter two are in proximity and the gate for these local games with hype draws a good crowd.

Skyline is a relatively new school. I think I remember from my counting rider points they are 2-7 this year.

I am fairly surprised with all the teams OOD. At least 3 new teams for all, with long travel distances

That tenth spot would be just fine for Franklin short turn around playing two times in two or three week span will be good for game planning.

I don’t think anyone stated which week was open, so it may not be the last game of the season but I am not in the know like that.

I saw that Riverheads is having a tough time finding teams to play.

I remember at Essex, it was really tough as well to find non district opponents (1a teams don't want to get whipped every year and bigger schools are nervous they might lose to a 1A - understandable but sad).

Even a new strong team like Northumberland is finding non district teams tougher to play sometimes - hence why Trinity Espicopal and Christchurch (both with recent private school state titles) have been added to the schedule - both pros and cons there.

Heck, its getting really tough to fill out a JV schedule.

Dont think the schedule has been decided. Last I heard they were still looking for that 10th game opponent. Since its non-district I would think it would be in the 1st part of the schedule but may not be the case since Central is non-district and has been game 9 the last 2 seasons.
