Riverheads vs Essex

I think we see 2 different things at Lee. The HOME side is huge, just concrete steps and metal bleachers across with a very good standing area at the top. But the away side is not very good. There may be a bunch of seats, but the top row probably isn't 15 feet high. There is also no room for the cheerleaders in between the bleachers and the fence. The bathrooms are indeed bad, and concession is decent but slow. There is certainly a lot of parking though.

As for King William, SD played there a couple years ago and from what I remember it was pretty good. I think that it was a small concession and not great bathrooms but I could be wrong on that
True, the seating on the away side in Staunton isn't all that great. When Riverheads played there earlier this season, about 1/3 of the Lee side was wearing Red. They were cool about us sitting there and cheering as loud as ever since we had already filled up the away side. In return, we stayed on the end zone side of their band.

I don't have any inside info but my best guess would be King William or King George since we've used those facilities for sure. If it's not at Essex I hope it's at King William.
Both look pretty nice on google maps. Looks like really long bleachers at KW and higher ones at KG. Parking looks easier and more of it at KG. Looks like KW would be the shorter trip. Just hope they decide soon.

Question...Do “both” teams in this situation, along with the vhsl have a say in where the games are played? And on a side note, can someone assist me to both teams record at home over the course of the last 4 or 5 years? Just curious. Not familiar with either team. Have heard of a lot of success from both for the last few years.

Riverheads has a school record 21 game home winning streak currently. Last loss was 11/21/14 against King William in playoffs.

Am I mistaken or are all fields 100 yds long and 50 yds wide , semi- final Week and we talking about the the bathrooms and concession stand . I’m going to watch football game not to worried about concession stand
You are mistaken lol. High school fields, well all fields, are 53.3 wide or 160'. Although the hash marks and numbers for college and high school are different than an NFL field

KW and KG bleachers are almost exactly the same. Only difference is KW is natural turf, KG is artificial. I say I say I say Msex should be in the mix. Then again its only 15 minutes from WP!!!

Not sure on records as I am neutral observer, but I think Essex has been in the final 8 for the last 15 yrs, with probably 10 final 4's. As for the teams having a say, I would say no. VHSL has established guidelines now for the semis, ironically due to what occurred at Essex when they hosted Fort Shitwell. Guidelines are in the VHSL bible, and as long as the higher seed team facilities meet those guidelines, they play at home. Essex does not currently meet those guidelines, as in today. Whether or not the VHSL allows them to install temporary facilities that meet the guidelines is the million dollar question. Pretty sure we will find out tmrw

Game should be held in Tappahannock, just bring in extra toilets and restrict end zone access, Essex deserves there home field advantage, it should be uncomfortable for the visiting team, it’s ironic how people want the game moved by pressuring vhsl but need doesn’t want to talk about being in the wrong classification.

This game (Riverheads vs. Essex) was not the championship game last year. Yes, they played last year, but RHS eliminated the Trojans in the regional final. From there the Big Red knocked off Galax and then Sussex in the Final Four to win the title. Chilhowie is the (relative) newcomer to the party this year.

They played Colonial Beach after Essex then Galax and Sussex, if I’m correct

They played Sussex in the title game, not final four
