Rustburg's New Coach

Wow is all I can say. They fired a coach after one year and his team only lost to 3 playoffs teams and one of them twice...wow! Hope it works out for them.

Bro is like 23/24. He could do very well (I hope he does; I like Rustburg’s program) but sheeesh. Lynchburg is a hot bed of some damn good coaches. They gotta know something we don’t.

And in an area whereas far as my knowledge he doesn't have any ties. That could be good or bad. Time will tell. The Seminole is a gauntlet.

Only 3 years of coaching and he isn't some special graduate of the school. This must have been the best interview ever. Good luck to him. A lot of pressure for that age.

What’s even sadder, football in that part of Eastern NC is horrendous with the exception of Havelock, Jacksonville and New Bern. West Brunswick didn’t play any of them.

Your forgetting about Hoggard and New hanover that are pretty dang good big boy ball schools Laney has a ton of talent (hoggard is really benefitting from the transfer portal in that area) and there are some really good small schools in that area as well (wallace rose hill, Clinton, east Dublin, Tarboro,Whiteville)We also don't know what the support system from within the school and administration and community were like at west brunswick. Only time will tell.

Hoggard was good in that area last year but compared to most schools in Charlotte, Greensboro (Dudley, Grimsley), and Winston (East and West Forsyth, Tabor and Reagan) they were very average. I should’ve specified also. West Brunswick is 3A or 4A in NC. Those small schools you speak of are 1A or 2A. WB didn’t play any of them. I’m one of few on here to admit that NC high school football is another ball game compared to VA.
